It depends on your roof's size, pitch, access and how much moss has built up, so we can't quote a figure here. Ask the installer for a written quote after they've looked at the job.

Routine cleaning of an existing roof doesn't change its appearance or structure, so it doesn't need planning permission, even in a conservation area. Only alterations to the roof covering itself might.

A routine clean isn't affected either way. If a repair comes up during the same visit, ask the installer to confirm with the relevant council whether consent is needed before any work beyond cleaning goes ahead.
